Mass. GOP hails Palin for 'results'
By Politicker StaffThe Massachusetts Republican Party had only praise for presumptive GOP presidential nominee John McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate.
"Sarah Palin is a terrific pick for John McCain and the entire country," Chairman Peter Torkildsen said in a statement.
"Sarah Palin took on the old-boy network in Alaska and won.To change Washington, it's going to take a team of Mavericks who have a record of accomplishment in shaking up the status quo."
Palin was elected governor of Alaska in 2006, a year in which she defeated two sitting governors: Republican Frank Murkowski in the primary and Democrat Tony Knowles in the general election.
Torkildsen said Palin has been "a tough executive" who "is ready to be president," and touted her as more accomplished than the Democratic ticket.
"She brought Republicans and Democrats together and delivered results," he said. "While the Obama-Biden ticket is big on talk, the McCain-Palin ticket is big on results. She alone has far more executive experience than Barack Obama and the McCain-Palin ticket will be a ticket to victory in November."

This from the man who couldn't keep his job at the height of power of the Gingrich revolution. I might believe he's ok with the choice, can even convince himself to like it, but 'terrific', not by a long shot. They talk about changing Washington, but that attitude has to start at home, and a good place to start is the hyperbola of 'terrific', when something much milder is the appropriate response. I know he's trying to follow the playbook and encourage the troops, but baldfaced exaggerations convince no one. At least no one thinking.
