U.S. Sen. John Kerry's re-election campaign began airing its third ad over the weekend, focusing on Kerry's efforts to help Massachusetts residents heat their homes as the cost of heating oil has risen.
The ad features a few testimonials from residents on how heating oil prices are making heating their homes more difficult.
"With oil costs at record highs, many are wondering how they'll heat their homes this coming winter," the narrator says. "But John Kerry is doing something about it. He's gotten new funding to help thousands of seniors and people of fixed incomes in Massachusetts afford to hear their homes."
Kerry is facing a Democratic primary challenge from Ed O'Reilly. If he wins that race next Tuesday, he'll face Republican Jeff Beatty in the general election.
Like Kerry's other ads, this spot was produced by Shorr Johnson Magnus. The campaign has initially committed $200,000 to the ad and it is running in the Boston and Springfield markets, as well on cable throughout Massachusetts, according to the campaign.

What a load!
John Kerry didn't provide me with 100 free gallons of heating oil last winter. Joe Kennedy, Hugo Chavez, and Citezens Energy did. Kerry's name necer came about. You're lying Mr. Kerry.
Kerry's a Joke
I love it when rich people who live off their wife's millions pretend to care about poor people. I bet Kerry could buy quite a bit of heating oil by jsut giving up his windsurfing trips and donating that money to charities that help people pay their heating bills.
I BET HE PAID THE PEOPLE IN THE COMMERCIAL WITH HEATING OIL TO GET THEM TO BE IN HIS COMMERCIAL.....
