Romney camp responds, calls Frank 'bitterly divisive'
By Jeremy P. Jacobs, PolitickerMA.com ReporterResponding to U.S. Rep. Barney Frank's criticism Thursday morning, Mitt Romney's staff swung back by calling Frank's comments divisive and touting the former governor's record in Massachusetts.
"It shouldn't surprise anyone that bitterly divisive Democrats like Barney Frank don't have anything good to say about Republicans," said Eric Fehrnstrom, a spokesman for Romney. "Fair-minded people look at Mitt Romney and see a strong leader, a man of character and integrity who was elected as governor at a time of job loss and recession and who managed to balance the budget all four years without raising taxes and get the Massachusetts economy moving again."
Frank's (D-Newton) remarks were made on a conference call put on by the Democratic National Committee in association with a project intended to discredit politicians rumored to be on presumptive Republican nominee John McCain's (Ariz.) vice presidential short list. The DNC launched a section of the project dedicated to Romney on Thursday.

Barney Frank is just trying to discredit Republicans, especially the ones who will help McCain win.

This is the fairy world Barney Frank lives in.
Lets compare Barney Frank to Mitt Romney. Who has been successful in business. Who was successful in other enterprises such as running the 2002 Winter Olympics. Everyone was worried about the security of the Olympics and Mitt delivered. Even China with all their security didn't prevent two stabbings.
Now compare Barney Frank's family to Mitt Romney's family. Mitt isn't out having affairs and he has no skeletons in his closet. When Mitt even sneezes, it becomes big news.

CATHOLICS LIKE ROMNEY
As a Catholic, I can tell you that Romney was a better friend to the Catholic church than any other Governor of MA has ever been. He tried to help the church with not letting gays adopt, with taxes, and didn't condemn the church for the sex scandal. He flew to the Vatican to see Bishop O'Malley made cardinal. Ironically, Romney was also the only Governor of MA who was not himself Catholic.

I can't wait to see Mitt on the ticket. I can't think of a nomination that would be better for America, particularly the economy and traditional family values.
Barney Frank Needs To Shut His Liberal Face
Ok, so who is going to listen to Barney Frank. Here is a guy whose only help to the Mass. Government was running a male prostitution ring from his congressional office a few years ago. Here is a guy that wants abortion on demand, including late term abortion where you can kill the baby right up until it is born. Here is a guy that can't be trusted with young boys, let alone with making decisions for his state. Here is a guy that makes Richard Simmons look like Rambo. Here is a guy that couldn't tell the truth even if his Barbara Streisand Tickets were on the line. And he has the Audacity to attack probably the most wholesome person who has ever run for President. So wholesome he would distance himself from my Richard Simmons comments. Only in Taxachussetts can you get elected to Congress by drowning woman in your cars, stabbing Vietnam Veterans in the back, and in Barney Frank's case running a male prostitution ring.
Ask a Massachusian
Just take a look at the most recent Suffolk survey. The people of MA know and remember the real Mitt Romney, a Governor who was a lame duck before even taking the oath.
Go ahead, put him on the ticket. See how it helps McCain's chances. I bet the RR will LOVE it.
Romney
Romney is the Democrats worst nightmare and has been from the beginning. They know the economy is the #1 issue with voters this year, and they've been trying to get Romney out of Obama's way since the very beginning when the New York Times "endorsed" McCain in attempt to bolster someone the felt would be easiest to liken to George W. Bush. The Democrats may be misguided, but they are not stupid. They know if Romney is on the ticket, the Republicans will win again because they'll have the best possible combination of wartime (McCain) and economic (Romney) expertise. Anyone who discredits Romney's facility with economic issues is not in possession of the facts- this guy may well be the answer to American's economic problems.
