Kerry may not debate O’Reilly

U.S. Sen. John Kerry said Monday that he may not debate Democratic primary challenger Ed O'Reilly before the Sept. 16 Sen. John Kerry (D-Boston)primary, the Associated Press reports.

Kerry (D-Boston) said he has instructed his campaign manager, Roger Lau, to negotiate the "modalities" of a debate with the O'Reilly (D-Gloucester) camp, but that, ultimately, "I just may not necessarily be able to" debate.

O'Reilly has made his debate challenge, which calls for debates in each of the state's 14 counties as well as at every University of Massachusetts campus and on four television networks, a central tenet of this campaign. He has repeatedly criticized Kerry for "ducking" debates, a charge that the Kerry camp called "blatant lies."

Quack

Sound like quack to me...ducking those debates. So much for the high talk four years ago when Kerry couldn't call for enough "dialogue". Still, I'm not surprised he is ducking debates - who would want to defend his record? I can't wait to get a chance to vote for a real Democrat on Spetember 16th.
